Wall of Bird and Garden (the Audubon cups or the bird wall)

In this piece I used chalk on the wall to create a fresco like painting of a cross between a garden and fence. I made 200 cups that have some birds from North America on one side, and glaze that matched the wall on the other side. The cups are perched on the wall on small shelves and in six of the shelves there is a motion sensor built into the shelf to produce the bird calls specifically to each cup, these sensors are set off by walking through the gallery.

All pottery is made from porcelain clay, fired in a soda kiln to mid-range temperature, cone 6, with blue and black inlay slip drawings. The cups are 3 x 3 x7 each and the fresco like wall is forty feel long and ten feet tall.
